I first met L & P entirely by chance in a quaint coffee shop in Kauai, where they were honeymooning alongside my husband and me. I wished our stays were longer so we could spend more time together. We kept in touch, and when I found myself in San Diego one November weekend, they invited my husband and I aboard their family boat for a sunset cruise on the bay. We slipped past moored sailboats into open water just as the sky began to glow, and I quietly documented their story—the breeze ruffling their hair, seabirds calling overhead, and their laughter bouncing across the vast waves. As the sun sank below the horizon, the water turned molten gold, and every candid laugh and tender glance felt like a private moment suspended in time. We wrapped up the evening with dinner at the yacht club, toasting to friendship, serendipity, and the beauty of following wherever a good story leads.
