There’s something magical about a sunrise engagement session, especially when it takes place at Crystal Cove State Beach. The world is still quiet, the air is crisp, and the golden morning light spills over the horizon, turning the ocean into a shimmering masterpiece. This session was everything I love about photographing couples—pure, intimate, and effortlessly beautiful.

My couple arrived just before the sun peeked over the cliffs, the beach completely empty except for the sound of the waves rolling in. The sky was a perfect shade of blue, and with not a cloud in sight, the golden light reflected beautifully off the water. The soft sand was untouched, like it had been waiting just for us.

They ran along the shoreline, leaving footprints in the wet sand, their laughter mixing with the sound of the waves. At times, they slowed down, just holding each other as the ocean breeze wrapped around them. The way they looked at each other, full of love and excitement for their future, made my job too easy!!

As the sun rose higher, we found the perfect spot near the rocky beach, where the waves crashed behind them. They danced barefoot in the sand, whispered little things only they could hear, and embraced in the golden light. Every moment felt natural, unposed—just two people enjoying a walk on the beach, soaking in the beauty of the morning and of each other.

By the time the beach started to wake up, we had already captured magic. A morning like this, with a couple so deeply in love, reminds me why I do what I do. And the best part? This is just the beginning of their journey—I am beyond excited to photograph their wedding this coming summer. If their engagement session was this incredible, I can only imagine how stunning their big day will be!
